About me
Alisa De Luna joined Volunteer Legal Services as Executive Director in January 2020. Prior to joining VLS, she spent 9 years working with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) as an Executive Director in Williamson County and a Senior Director in Travis County. She honed her skills in non-profit management, leadership development, and social justice work as she recruited, trained, and supported CASA staff and volunteers in advocacy work in the community, in the courts, and at the state Capitol. In 2015, Alisa was recognized by the Texas Office for the Prevention of Development Disabilities with the J.C. Montgomery Award for her work in advocating for the best interest of children in the child welfare system. Alisa graduated from Rice University and her background is in non-profit management and fundraising, including work with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Austin Opera before committing herself to social justice advocacy work and organizations. She lives in Round Rock with her family, where she is actively involved in supporting students in the performing arts. In her free time, Alisa is an avid runner.
